The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position listed below. ARIN, a nonprofit membership association located in Chantilly, VA, is seeking a software engineer with an emphasis on web application development. ARIN administers the registration of Internet Protocol (IP) numbers and provides a wide variety of services to its members and outreach in the Internet community




Position: Software Engineer

This is an in-house position – no telecommuters, no consultants. Relocation is not provided. We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our very dynamic engineering team. This engineer will be working on systems that serve the very core of the Internet and whose technology is highly visible within the Internet community.

Job Description:

Perform duties in all aspects of the software development process: requirements analysis, solution design, solution development, unit testing, implementation,documentation, software support.

Under supervision, support and maintain legacy software packages and solutions in the organization.

Key Success Factors: (Specific expectations during next 6 – 18 months)

- Support existing software development efforts.
- Develop new software modules of the system to satisfy business needs.
- Research and recommend technologies to improve the system from a performance,
- support, and/or functionality perspective.
- Support and maintain legacy applications and technologies.
- Support technology needs of organization employees.

Required Skills and Experience:

- Solid knowledge/experience with Java 5+
- Solid knowledge/experience with SQL and RDBMS concepts
- Proficient in Linux Operating Systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and on teams.
- A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with at least 1-2 years experience or equivalent experience.
